October 15th Nikki came to home. She is one of the wild flock bird and there was an accident in Norton street.
A car hit a tree and a nest felt down from the tree. The other 2 little one dies but Nikki survived. They named her Norton. And Mickaboo (Jennifer) hand fed her almost a month. Than Nikki came home.Vet check up said she is a little healthy girl. And name Norton turn to Nikita. She is so sweet and cute. She learned step up and come to us. She loved flying. We let her learn how to fly and she always fly to me.
Indi on the other hand was a sweat cuddly boy and one day he flue on my hair and tangled there. He freak out and made me freak out. When I give him my finger to step up he bit. And he bit bad.
It was an accident and my first bird bite didnt care to much but next day he came to Charley and than flue to me and when he land on my finger start biting.I couldnt do anything except yelling Charley. After wounded three finger he let go but I learned my lesson and never get close to him again. He even didnt permit me to clean his cage or change his food. Today he went back to Jamie to go his adopter. That is a man and he is living alone. Indi proved his hate to women and that house can be really nice to him.

Izzy`s first week
Izzy joined the flock at July 10th. She is a good girl with high pitch voice. She is not like Spinach constant hiccup er but still loud. When Izzy arrived whole flock was out side. We arranged the cages and Izzy gets a big cage. Boys saw her from far side of patio and hilariously they decide to take shower in their drinking water cup.
Izzy did well whole week. She panicked me when she climb on my shoulder than my neck and bit me when I try to get her. I discovered that she will be good on perch and we still interact with her.
Izzy and Spinach are not good together. We learned that this weekend. When we took them same time even thou Spinach with Charley and Izzy was on my shoulder they didn't like it. But Spinach looks like will be really good with boys. because her quarantine is finished we carried her to boys room. And Izzy took her place in the kitchen.
When boys out and their cage top was open, Charley walk in the room and Spinach just flow to their cage. It was something.I was ready to grab a towel and Charley was looking for a perch, than Baker turn to Spinach and say "Hi". Al run in the cage and sit near by her and they start kissing. yes , it was a kiss and I am telling you "A French Kiss"

It seems that he ate a lot of seed and pine nuts. But obviously he enjoy vegetables. At the mornings he is extremely grumpy.Saturday morning we try to reach him but he was not cooperating. When I try to put a piece of mint branch to his cage he lung and tear the leaves like a copper.
Honestly his aggressive behaviour really scares me.
He was doing better with Charley. Saturday evening he opened the cage door and Spinach decide to come out and he climbed from his hand to his shoulder and insist to stay on his shoulder couple hours. At 8pm when I went to put another birds to bed he fly away from Charley and walk true to his cage:) He realized that it is time to bed.
This morning all birds carried to garden.Al and Baker know the drill. And they love to go outside. I filled that bath for them but didn't take bath today because it was not so hot.
Al begin to have a special affection with me. He is incredibly intelligent and full with surprises. And Baker definitely get jealous when we flirting with Al. He pushes him back and start fighting.
Tomorrow will be tough Charley is leaving in the morning and he and me need to handle each other..
We will see.!!!

We are at the 4th week and we had a lot of way. Baker and Al today spend few hours out of cage.Still they don't come when we try to do them "Step Up" but eating from our hand and when we came close to their cage come to us. Al is crazy about juicy fruits.Orange, cherry and especially Black berry are his favorite.
Baker is more veggie guy.He likes his broccoli.
They are getting really loud between 7 and 8.30pm. Especially when we try to cover the cage Baker loves to say Hi..Couple days ago one of the talking , "Hi guys"(I guess we always say that when we step in the room.) and "Hello Baker" was so obvious.I believe that was Al and he talks a really soft voice.
We are getting another bird probably next week. This one will be conure but tamed. I even don't want to think how we will handle with quarantine.

The Saga Continues
Well we new it would happen soon or later. Our Virginity with these wonderful little guys is no more. Al and Baker decided to start fighting today, and since we just bought another cage, we thought it was a good idea to separate them. We knew were needed to work on the training we read in the books, so we also thought it was a good idea to combine these two tasks. We worked on the "Step Up" to see if we could get one of them to step up on the dowel we used. They didn't think that was too much fun and decided not to play. But the book said we need to get them out of the cage to do this exercise, and once we got Baker out of the cage, using the "towel" we started working on this trick and got him to do it one time. Well that is not where the virginity broke but it is very exciting step for us. After about 10-15 minutes working on this we used the towel again and moved Baker to the other cage, which is in a different room. From the yelling they both did, we decided separating them is not a good idea. So using the Towel again we moved Al to the new cage and started cleaning there home cage really good. They seemed to enjoy the bigger cage, but we knew they needed to go back into the other cage. So again, we tried the Step-up to see if they were still wild, and yes they are. So out comes the towel, and Baker was first to be captured and moved back home. The yelling started again, so we knew Al was next. Well Al is a bit more obstinant about this and once we had him in the towel and holding him to Charley's chest, this is when Al showed just how much he enjoys this activity, and where Charley's virgin finger is no longer un"bitten". This is kinda humorous, but it really gets better. Charley carried Al to the home cage, and I thought it was a good idea to start cleaning the now empty cage again. Next thing I hear is Charley, asking "very politely" for my assistance in opening the cage door. Really couldn't stop laughing even when we looked at the two pin prick holes in Charley finger. Lucky thing I have some tea tree oil for these injuries and it seems we need a bigger bottle of that.

Everything start with that movie...
One of those nights, there was nothing to watch on TV and we check Netflix "instantly to your TV".
Telegraph Hill is a neighbourhood in San Francisco and I love to learn new areas to discover. Honestly I didn't think that movie will be about parrots. As everything about this city, most absurd thing showed up, there was wild parrot flock in San Francisco. No body know how they came here but they know from 1989. End of the documentary movie there was the rescue groups name "Micaboo". I checked it online and saw that they need foster homes desperately.

Then one day we found a message on our phone. We suppose to join that class.
One Saturday we spend 3 hours at the class back of the small pet store. We learned a lot about parrot and bird care as we were total virgins.
Then another long period of wait for phone interview then home visit. Finally one day before my birth day birds arrived to our home. Alemany and Baker. Two conure cherry heads from SF flock. They name after SF streets.

First day they were just sitting a farthest corner of the cage. They didn't eat they didn't made any sound. Al had an injury. He broke his neck or back because of that he was in Mickaboo. I don't know the Baker`s story.
But Baker was more close to people. After a day. he begin to eat Charley's hand. Then he accept me too with same black berries.
Today, after a week Alemany start eating from my hand. His favorite is oranges. I start getting ebooks and today we came back from library with handful more books about parrots and training. We know this is just the beginning, because they capured our hearts. Now a week later, remember they made no sounds, now they let us know what they want by the sounds of their voices. When we put them to bed, and cover their cage, both start with soft voice "Hi" and continue until they fall asleep. They are like little kids trying to keep from going to bed. So much for now, check again later for update on the adventures of Al and Baker.
